Miniature heart - gold plated

This miniature gold-plated Christmas heart from Nordahl Andersen is 5 cm tall and features a red felt insert and ribbon.

The hanging decoration is based on the original paper cut-out by H. C. Andersen. A beautiful and simple heart, which looks lovely either on its own in a window or as part of a collection of hearts on a fairy-tale branch.

Paper cut-out – Christmas heart

The woven Christmas heart is believed to be the world’s first, cut out and woven by H.C. Andersen.

It is not known for certain whether it was intended as a Christmas decoration to hang on the Christmas tree, as it had no loop. It is made from two strips of yellow and green paper. The Christmas heart measures 5 cm x 5 cm and was made in the 1860s.
